THE RAZOR'S EDGE
I've been celebrating the Kemetic New Year using the following ritual.
Festival of the Drop
©2008 Atiba King
Part One - Recite the complete ‘Ritual to the NTRW’
Part Two - Libation & Purification
Pyramid Text – Utterance 23 Libation
Ausar, Restrain all those who hate me and who speak evilly against my name. Tehuti, hurry, restrain those who are harmful to Ausar and carry off those who speak evilly against my name. Put them in your hand to restrain them (repeat 4x). Do not let go of them. Make sure you hold them tight! (Pour water).
Pyramid Texts – Utterance 32
This cold water of yours, Ausar; This cold water of yours, Nisw Bity, has gone forth to your son, has gone forth to Heru. I have come and I bring you the eye of Heru that your heart may be refreshed possessing it. I bring it to you under your sandals. Take the efflux which issued from you, your heart will not be inert possessing it (recite 4x).
Pyramid Texts – Utterance 33
Nisw Bity, Take this cold water of yours for you have coolness with Heru in you name of Him who issued from cold water. Take the efflux which issued from you. Heru has caused the Shemsu Heru to gather for you at the place where you drowned. Ausar the Nisw Bity, take your natron that you may be divine for Nut has caused you to be a NTR to your foe in the name of NTR. Har-renpi recognizes you becoming young in your name Fresh Water.
Part Three - Praises to RA
Pyramid Texts – Utterance 214 Nisw Bity goes to the sky
(Insert your name), beware of the Lake! (recite 4x) The messengers of my double come for me, the messengers of my father come for me, the messengers of RA come for me so I rise up to the sky and cleanse myself. My bones are those of the divine falcons who are in the sky. May I be beside the NTR. May I depart and ascend to my Son. May I restrain anyone who speaks evilly against my name. Rise, for Geb has committed him to a low estate in his town so he may flee and wearily sink down. But I shall bathe in the starry firmament. I shall descend upon the iron bands on the arms of Heru in his name of Him who is in the Hnw-barque. Mankind shall call out to you for the Imperishable stars have raised you on high. Ascend to the place where your father is and to the place where Geb is that he may give you that which is on the brow of Heru. That you may have a soul and power and that you may be at the head of the Westerners.
Pyramid Texts – Utterance 215 The Nisw Bity ascends to the sky as a Star
Nisw Bity, my messengers go and my heralds run to my father Atum. Atum, raise him up to you and hold him within your arms.
There is no star NTR that has no companion. Have you your companion? Look at me. You have seen the shapes of the children of their fathers who know their speech, the Imperishable Stars. Now see those who are in the castle, Heru and Set. Spit on the face of Heru for him that you may remove the injury which is on him. Pick up the testicles of Set that you may remove his mutilation. That one is born for you and this one is conceived for you.
Heru, you are born in your name of Him at whom the Earth quakes. Set, you are conceived in this your name of Him at whom the sky trembles. If this one had no mutilation and that one has no injury, and vice versa, then you will have no injury and you will have no mutilation.
Heru you are born for Ausar and you have more power and fame than he. There is no seed of a NTRW that passes away at his word (?) and you shall not pass away at his word (?). Ra-Atum will not give you to Ausar and he shall not claim your heart nor have power over your heart. Ra-Atum will not give you to Heru and he shall not claim your heart nor have power over your heart. Ausar, you shall never have power over him nor shall your father have power over him. “(Insert your name), you belong to this NTR,” said the Twin Children of Atum. “Raise yourself in your name of NTR and come into being, an Atum to every NTRW.”
Your head is the Heru of the Netherworld, O Imperishable.
Your face is the Mhnt-irty, O Imperishable.
Your ears are the Twin Children of Atum, O Imperishable.
Your eyes are the Twin Children of Atum, O Imperishable.
Your nose is Wepwawet, O Imperishable.
Your teeth are Sopd, O Imperishable.
Your hands are Hapi and Duamutef,
You demand that you ascend to the sky and you shall ascend.
Your feet are Amset and Qebhsenuf,
You demand that you descend to the Lower Sky and you shall descend.
Your members are the Twin Children of Atum, O Imperishable.
You shall not perish and your double shall not perish, you are a double.

Pyramid Texts Utterance 222 Nisw Bity joins Ra
The Officiating Priest addresses the Nisw Bity
Stand upon it, this earth which issued from Atum, this spittle which issued from Khoprer. Come into being upon it and be exalted upon it so that your father may see you and so that Ra may see you.
The Nisw Bity speaks
I have come to you my father. I have come to you Ra
I have come to you my father. I have come to you Ndi.
I have come to you my father. I have come to you Pndn.
I have come to you my father. I have come to you Dndn.
I have come to you my father. I have come to you Great Wild Bull.
I have come to you my father. I have come to you Great Reed Barque.
I have come to you my father. I have come to you Spdw.
I have come to you my father. I have come to you Spdw, sharp of teeth.
Grant that I may seize the sky and take possession of the horizon.
Grant that I may rule the Nine and provide for the Ennead.
Place the crook in my hand that the head of Lower and Upper KMT may be bowed.
I charge my opponent and stand up, the great headman in my great waters,
Nebt-Het has favored me and I have captured my opponent.
The Officiating Priest speaks
Provide yourself with the Great Heka including Set dwelling in Nubet, Lord of Upper KMT, nothing is lost to you and nothing has ceased for you. See, you have more fame and power than the NTRW of Upper KMT and their spirits. You were birthed by the Pregnant One, being equipped as Set who broke forth violently you terminated the night. You are favored by Auset.
Being young equip your self as Heru, nothing is lost to you and nothing has ceased for you. See, you have more fame and power than the Northern NTRW and their spirits. Cast off you impurity for Atum in Iunu and go down with him. Assign the needs of the Lower sky and succeed to the thrones of the Primeval Waters. May you come into being with your father Atum, may you go up on high with your father Atum, and may you rise with your father Atum so you may be released from your desires with your mind being under the care of the NTRT of Iunu. Go up, open your way by the means of the bones of Shu. The embrace of your mother Nut will enfold you. Be pure in the horizon and get rid of your impurities in the Lakes of Shu.
Ascend and descend, descend with Ra and sink into darkness with Ndi.
Ascend and descend, ascend with Ra and rise with the Great Reed Barque.
Ascend and descend, descend with Nebt-Het and sink into darkness with the Night Barque.
Ascend and descend, ascend with Auset and rise with the Day Barque.
May you have power in your body for you have no hindrance. You are born of Heru and you are conceived for Set. Be pure in the Western District and receive your purification in the district of Iunu with your father Atum. Come into being, go up on high, and it will be well with you. It will be pleasant in the embrace of your father Atum. Atum, raise Nisw Bity (insert the name of the celebrant) up to you and enclose him in your embrace for he is your son of your body forever.

Hymn to Ra
Adorations to you who is the perfect Ra of each day. Who rises in the morning without respite and who is the Khepri burdened with work. We have your rays in our eyes and are not able to perceive them. The most pure gold is not comparable to your splendor. Carver whom you carved yourself you have cast your own body great sculptor who has never been sculpted. You who are alone in your species, travels over the heights of eternity, and under whose image are the ways of millions, such is your splendor, such is the splendor of the firmament: your colors are more brilliant than its colors.
When navigating you traverse the heavens, all men contemplate you: you continue (under the earth as well) hidden to their eyes. You present yourself in the morning as a daily task. The navigation of your barque is impeccable, under your majesty. In a short day you devour a space of millions of hundreds of thousands of miles. Each day is for you but a moment, and after traveling through it, you retire. In the same way you accomplish the hours of the night. You carry out this course without respite from your efforts.
All eyes see by your grace: and they cease to see when your majesty is retired. You put beings in movement in order to emerge. Your rays create the morning; they open the eyes that awaken. You lie down in the regions of Manu and at the same instant they sleep as if they were dead.
Adorations to you, Aten of the day, who has created humans and who has given them life. Grand falcon of speckled plumage who has come in order to raise himself up by his own means, appearing of his own accord without being put in the world, Heru the elder who is in the middle of the celestial Nut, for whom gestures of joy are made at the rising as at the setting.
Founder of what produces the ground, Khnum: Amun of humans, who carries along with him the inhabitants of the Two Lands, from the greatest to the smallest. Beneficent Mother of the NTRW and of men, patient and untiring worker when he makes them in incalculable number. Valiant herdsman who leads his beasts: their shelter who gives them life.
He who hurries, he who runs, he who accomplishes his revolutions, Khepri of the illustrious birth, raising his perfection in the belly of celestial Nut: giving light to the Two Lands from his Disk, the primordial of the Two Lands who created himself and who saw himself while he was creating himself.
Unique master, who reaches the extremity of the earths each day, viewed by those who circle on them, emerging as a figure who contemplates from on high what passes during the day. He composes the seasons with months, sets the atmosphere ablaze to his liking, makes the freshness of the air to his liking. He causes the human body to extend or to retract. The whole earth gesticulates like monkeys who awaken at his rising each day to salute him.
