Auset Never Wore A Veil

Developing A Kemetic Perspective of Existence Pt. 1

Good Evening, Thanks for coming out. I’d like to welcome you to the Temple of MAAT-TEHUTI meeting for March. We hold public meetings at the Black Star Bookstore on the first Saturday of every month. Tonight we begin a series of presentations to show you why and how you can begin to "Develop a Kemetic Perspective of Existence". To start this party off right we’re gonna play a little music that represents the theme or idea of tonight’s presentation. It’s a song from the ‘70’s entitled Compared to What? Eddie Harris and Les McCann made this song popular on their album Swiss Movement. (The lyrics are shown on the overhead projector.)

Compared To What?

Loves a Lie and Lies are Love

I’m hanging on to push and shove,

Possession is the motivation that is hanging up the Goddamn nation.

Looks like we always end up in a rut. Everybody now, Trying to make it real compared to what.

Slaughterhouse is killing hogs

Twisted children killing frogs

Poor dumb rednecks rolling logs

Tired old ladies kissing dogs.

Hate the human love that stinking mutt.

I can’t use it, Trying to make it real compared to what.

President he’s got his war

Folks don’t know just what it’s for.

Nobody gives us rhyme or reason

Have one doubt they call it treason.

We’re chicken feathers all without one nut. Goddamn it, Trying to make it real compared to what.

Church on Sunday sleep & nod

Trying to duck the wrath of god

Preachers filling us with fright

They all trying to teach us what they think is right

They really got to be some kind of Nut.

I can’t use it, Trying to make it real compared to what.

Where’s that bee & where’s that honey

Where’s my god & where’s my money.

Unreal values crass distortion

Unwed mothers need abortion.

Kinda brings to mind old Young King Tut

He did it now, Trying to make it real compared to what

(Ed. note: The words in italics are the only changes made in the original.)

As you can see the lyrics are right on the money. This was happening, must have been in the mid ‘70’s because the line about "President he’s got his war" is talking ‘bout Vietnam, Cambodia, and all that stuff. But it fits today! We don’t know why Bush wants to go to Iran, Iraq, and all that stuff. At least we say we don’t know why but we know why. The bottom line is we’re living a life that we don’t really have any control over because we’ve been mistaught…from our perspective. We’ve been taught well from the perspective of the folks running the show. They have us off-track. I was listening to this (song) and it tickled me because the last line he said, "Kinda brings to mind old young King Tut, He did it now trying to make it real compared to what?" I just said well damn. For him to go back to KMT and say King Tut on it (just) did it real, did it right, just made the song more real.

And so I guess the key to what I’ll be talking about tonight (is in) the name of this lecture: "Auset Never Wore A Veil". According to various hermetic teachers and just Europeans in general they… Number 1 the name Auset is not usually heard or used in Egyptian books. Auset is the…it’s a pretty close approximation of the original Kemetic language of the name for the lady who performed the first virgin birth. In the MDW NTR symbols her name is translated as AST. We insert a couple of vowels to make it easier to say the words. That’s why we say Auset. Since the Greeks had first dibs on the Kemetic libraries and they couldn’t pronounce MDW NTR well they called her Isis in their language. There’s a book by Madame Blavatsky titled "Isis Unveiled". The myths or story goes that all the secrets of the universe are held by Isis but they are veiled and will become known only to the initiates. That gives rise…that’s part of saying that there were Egyptian Mystery Schools and things like that. There was only a mystery for people of other cultures and other countries who weren’t allowed into the schools. The Temple of what we call Karnak but which was Ipet Isut held up to 80,000 students at a time. With that many children and young adults going to this temple imagine where they went when they left? Who they taught when they left? Who they interacted with when they left? The whole Afrikan continent and the whole world was very familiar with the teachings that were given out in KMT.

I saw a TV show a few years back named, "The Curse of the Cocaine Mummies". So I had to watch it ‘cuz I wondered, "What kinda mess is this? What are they doing now?" Well, what they’ve done is…some scientists did some tests on some mummies. They found large amounts of cocaine in the skeletal system. The amount of cocaine was so large that they said it couldn’t be from occasional use. So this was the mummies from Egypt. So just on whim they went to the cemeteries in Greece and Rome and checked out the dead bodies there and they found large amounts of cocaine (in the bodies) there and it hit them. The coca leaf only grows in South America. Well according to their teachings, their thoughts the people in the Eastern World on that side of the ocean never came over here to the Americas. So if they had that much cocaine that (means) hey we were using it on a regular basis. If they had access to the coca leaf in that amount then they must have been communicating with folks in the Americas. But they said naw, naw, naw. It must be a trick. They must’ve had a form of the coca leaf growing over here (in KMT) that’s extinct now. And to them (the scientists) that’s another mystery but they just close their eyes to things all the time. Because they are in charge of academia, of the books, of the finances, you know. They are the Gatekeepers. It’s up to us to get beyond the gatekeepers. One of the things that we do as Blacks scholars is we read a tremendous number of books, we do a whole lot of hard thinking and meditating. But we feel that reading the MDW NTR if too difficult. Because its supposedly a lost language and stuff. I’m studying MDW NTR with Bonotchi. Brother Bonotchi always teases me because everything that I come up with is good but it’s based on second hand research that somebody else has done. Now even though I’m close to the mark…the people of KMT wrote their own story. And if you can read the MDW NTR you don’t have to go thru the Greek or the Hindu or you know, anyone else ‘cuz you can go right to them. They kept extensive records on everything. And that’s something I encourage all of you to take the time to do.

There are a lot of papyri and stelae that have been translated and catalogued by Europeans but we don’t really get a hold of it, you know. I have quite a few books where they just list the stela and say, "Well this is the Cow Goddess" or something that. They won’t tell you the name is Het-Heru or even Hathor. They won’t even say that (Hathor) which is the Greek name for Het-Heru so we’re still off base no matter how close you go when you approach (KMT) thru the culture of another person. You’re almost running a parallel line. You’ll never cross into KMT but you’ll be, thru your Afrikan Centeredness, you can get close to it but you’ll never really touch KMT.

In most spiritual systems it’s important to know the names of God in order to access the power of God. Well according to Herodotus, a Greek historian, who wrote the book, "The History":

"…the names of all the Gods have been known in KMT from the beginning of time." Herodotus: "The Histories"

In KMT they believed words have power. So if you were an initiate in the Temple, based on your level of achievement you were taught certain powers, capabilities, and qualities of the NTR or NTRW, Which is their term for the qualities we call Gods, and by invoking these terms and others you can access their powers. They went so far that sometimes when they drew MDW NTR symbols on the wall that if they drew a snake they wouldn’t draw a whole snake. They would like draw a break in the snake. They wanted to pronounce the letter but they didn’t want the snake to be able to come alive. That’s how serious they were in their beliefs.

"What distinguishes the religion of KMT from all others is that it is consistently oriented to the sky, rather than to Earth. The heavens were divided into 36 sectors called Dekans." Each Dekan was ascribed to a particular NTR. This system was used for timekeeping in addition to its zodiacal intent. It is so accurate that we still use the decan system today. "The land of KMT was divided into 42 provinces (often called by the greek term Nome). Each province was established by the natural features of the landscape and specifically personified by a NTR. It’s very significant that the 36 NTRW of the dekans and the 42 NTRW of the land equal the number 78. This is the number of sacred principles associated with the original Tarot deck. The images of the Tarot card deck are said to be conceived of by Tehuti to represent archetypal forces at work in the lives of humans. As a system of spiritual instruction, occult legend says that the images were put onto playing cards because man’s proclivity for gambling would never cease --- therefore guaranteeing the system’s survival." "The Sacred Tradition in Ancient Egypt" by Rosemary Clark

So when you have a horoscope done and someone gives you that circular chart and draws the symbols of the different planets on it telling you what houses its (the planets) in and you go home and can’t figure out nothing. Well, that circular chart is a picture of the dekans. There are, each section is like 12 degrees, I believe it is… naw I messed that up. Well anyway you split each section up into 3 smaller sections and that tells you how far it (the planets) has gone within the houses. And if there’s anyone here who has a greater knowledge of astrology and can clear that up just speak right up. This ain’t one of them lectures where I’m like the Big Cheese and y’all can’t say nothing. It ain’t even like that. Y’all just come on out with it. But when doing astrology charts they still use the dekan system today and they use it in astronomy too! (Excuse me for that error in explaining the dekan. Dekan is the Greek term for ten. Our astrological charts are based on the Greek and Roman arrangement of dividing the chart into 12 sections of 30 degrees each to correspond with their mythology. The Kemetic chart was divided into 36 sections of 10 degrees each. Each section was depicted as being a NTR. There are 360 degrees in a circle.)

"The land of KMT was divided into 42 provinces (often called by the Greek term Nome). Each province was established by the natural features of the landscape and specifically personified by a NTR." "The Sacred Tradition in Ancient Egypt" by Rosemary Clark

What that means is if you live in a hilly area and you have to negotiate these hills all the time. The forces of the NTRW are what we call gods in this society. The forces of the NTR or the creator in the hilly area are going to be different from the creative force in a sandy area, (or) in an area of vegetation and trees. So they (the Kemetic people) were (being) more specific rather than just saying, "God did it all". The area, the type of land, even the people who lived in that area would have a different personality. We recognize that here when (we say) people on the West Coast are different from people on the East Coast and they’re different from people down south. And within the city if you live in an area of houses with a little space, a little backyard you have a different personality from someone who lives in the projects. Projects have the apartments and everything is scrunched together. It does something to you. So your location, the landscape, and all that affects you differently. They were aware of that in KMT and they took note of it.

Each province was established by the natural features of the landscape and specifically personified by a NTR. "It’s very significant that the 36 NTRW of the dekans and the 42 NTRW of the land equal the number 78. This is the number of sacred principles associated with the original Tarot deck. The images of the Tarot card deck are said to be conceived of by Tehuti to represent archetypal forces at work in the lives of humans. As a system of spiritual instruction, occult legend says that the images were put onto playing cards because man’s proclivity for gambling would never cease --- therefore guaranteeing the system’s survival. The images of the NTRW have been omitted from most card decks. However, all decks still have 78 cards." "The Sacred Tradition in Ancient Egypt" by Rosemary Clark

The only Tarot card deck that I’ve run across that uses Kemetic symbols is this one (I hold the deck up to the audience). The Book of Doors. You get a book with it that explains…each card has a picture of a NTR and you get a book with it explaining the qualities of the NTR. Let me sow you one right quick. This is the NTR Kheper-Ra. Now the card for Kheper-Ra will tell you many of the qualities of the NTR and it’s fairly accurate. It’s based on the teachings of R.A. Schwaller deLubicz. Who wrote the Temple of Man, Esoterism and Symbol and a lot of other books. He was a person who went and lived in KMT for, I think, 12 years. He lived among the Temple of Karnak and just traveled. He was deeply rooted in metaphysical teachings before he even went there. So you know he pretty much on the money. He’s pretty close to what I recognize as the truth and f you get this book you’ll see what I mean. You get 78 cards and you get instructions on how to do divinations too.

"The 42 principles identified in the NTRW of the land represent a template that manifests on numerous levels of experience." "The Sacred Tradition in Ancient Egypt" by Rosemary Clark

One thing we use the cards for in our Temple meetings is to do meditations. We will go into level, look at a card & memorize all the images on the card & then meditate on it. We get some very interesting messages. And we will do a meditation tonight on that card, Kheper-Ra. Like I said, if you have any questions you know, or comments?

Question: Have you studied the Neters of this area?

Response: Have I been studying them? You mean the sparrows and squirrels? No, I haven’t studied the Neters in Detroit or Michigan area if that’s what you’re asking. No I haven’t. Lately I’ve been really concentrating on KMT. Getting that together. It is a project that somebody needs to do though. You’ll probably get a head up if you went through the teachings of some of the natives of this area (Native Americans). Because that type of thought process is what they believed in. They often talked about the spirit of the rock, the spirit of the tree, the spirit of the grass. You know that’s the same thing. I have a friend who lives in Canada just across the water (the Detroit River). He’s a member of the Oneida Tribe. He always talks about going to the reservation and finding out a lot of spiritual things. He won’t tell me because I’m not in the clique, you know what I mean.

A different person in the audience: Can I say something?

Sure

I think it’s the 9 Ennads which represent Heru in his completion. Once you tap into that information the NTRW will speak. The rocks, the sky, the squirrels (will speak too) and the key to that knowledge, wisdom & overstanding comes through the 9 Ennads. So I think once you start going deep into that, natures right there to unlock the mysteries of Herself.

I can see where that is possible. The uhh, I pronounce it like Enneed or Enee-ad, but you might be right who knows. They are the 1st 9 NTRW of creation. So aspects of them would be… Aspects of them would be in existence all over the world. Now I spoke of the number 42 as relating to the 42 provinces of KMT.

"The number 42 is a multiple of 7. All gestation periods among mammals occur in cycles of 7. This is related to the Moon. The number 42 also represents the proportional distance of the Sun to the planet Saturn. Saturn is the last of the organic powers in Sacred Astronomy.

    1. SUN: Unity, the expression of spirit and consciousness. The planets represent the forces we use to express the unity of the Sun
    2. MERCURY: Principle of mentality and #7
    3. VENUS: Principle of association and #14
    4. EARTH/MOON: Principle of emotion and #21
    5. MARS: Principles of action and #28
    6. JUPITER: Principle of growth and #35
    7. SATURN: Principle of manifestation & completion & #42"

In the Kemetic and most of the older astrology, astronomy, and horoscope systems they only use 5 planets. Now I’ve prepared a list here of the Kemetic cities and their associated NTRW. I cobbled this together from a lot of different sources. I’m saying cobbled this together because I didn’t get it from the MDW NTR itself. So ain’t no need in me acting like THIS IS THE REAL! But it’s close. Through my studies in learning how to read the MDW NTR I’ll refine this further.

Now I’m not going to read the whole list down because there are quite a few and actually I left some off because I have another list (of cities) about this long that does not include the NTRW. This (pointing to the left column) is the Kemetic translation of the name Abdju. The NTR associated with Abdju is ASR (pronounced Ausar) who the greeks called Osiris. The greek name for this city is Abydos and this is what the city is called now. So you look on the map of Egypt and see Abydos but this (points to Abdju) is the name of the city back in the day when we were strong. And this is one of the problems that you’ll have when you’re studying ancient Egypt. The books will use Greek or Arab terms for the different names which makes it, once again, important to know how to read the MDW NTR itself. Because then you can cut thru all the fluff and the misdirection that they put on it. Cause by the time you read ASR without vowels then you see Ausar with vowels then you see Osiris…well you think its three different Neters, three different ‘gods’ is what they always call them. The star Sirius…in Greek it was called Sothis but the people of KMT called it Spdt. Now we put in some vowels and call it Sopdet or Sepdet but you know the bottom line is we all know it as Sirius, some of us know it as Sothis. Whichever one of those two names you know it as you still don’t know the qualities behind it. If you could read the MDW NTR text themselves when they talk about Spdt you would hear a whole different story. And it would be a lot more informative than european scholars have to tell you or Black scholars trained in european fashion. Its just like, many of us have changed our names. We change dour names because we have grown, we have come into some new knowledge, we embody a different persona, some different principles. Well, that’s happens we they change the names going from Kemetic to Greek to Roman to Italian to English the principles changed. Unfortunately they always lose principles. So it’s like reading a 20th generation copy of a 25th generation copy. Again it’s much like the food they have us eating…it’s all empty. It’s filling and it taste good but it don’t do jack for us. If anything it takes you out. Like I said, we can get close but if you really want to get there you have to read what our ancestors said themselves. They left it on the walls for a reason. They knew we were falling asleep.

I attended a lecture at the Serengheti ballroom in ’98 given by the MDW NTR study group. Dr. Theophile Obenga was speaking. Someone asked him, "What happened to the language of KMT? How did it die? What happened to the people that we don’t know anything about it?" He said,

" All language is a manifestation of the life and culture of the people. When KMT society was so thoroughly beaten that it’s conquerors were able to stop the people from living their way of life their language died."

Because if you aren’t able to go to the temple and pay homage to the NTRW. Us, being a spiritual people, we’re gonna pray to somebody. That’s just that! When Emperor Constantine closed up the Temples he left a few open to Isis for a little bit. Then he closed them up and put (Christian) churches on top of the same area. Instead of calling it Isis he called it Mary. Instead of calling the child Heru it became Jesus. Now we loves us some Jesus and Mary. But it’s really Heru it’s really Auset. And what did Joseph do anyway? Does anybody know what Joseph did? I mean besides be a carpenter. But in the Kemetic story Ausar went around and taught culture to the whole world. So we know some things about Ausar. If all you know is Jesus, Mary, and Joseph? Joseph was just a dude who had the misfortune to have his old lady hang out with God. And he died early. He didn’t even raise his kids. I don’t know…I never really understood that.

I was watching the video "Reptilian Agenda" by Credo Mutwa and his first words in the video were:

"When the white man started destroying our religion, when he started demonizing our Gods, when he started ridiculing what we believed in and actually used educated Africans to destroy the Ancient African religion. In many parts of Africa our ancient religions went underground."

Now this happened in KMT also. As I said, as many students as were in one Temple alone, the Temple of Ipet Isut. They spread out. Some of the priests fought back, some of them died, and some of them split. They could go all over the world. They had their connections. They had their students and family. Cuz the priests of KMT did not live in the Temples in isolation. There were some who reached a high level and they stayed there but the majority of the priests worked on 4 month shifts. For the rest of the year they lived with their family. They had regular jobs. Some of it was dealing with Temple duties but they couldn’t go into the inner circle (of the Temple) and do things. When it was time for them to do their four-month shift they didn’t have nothing to do with their family. They showered, they shaved all the hair off their bodies, because they had to be pure, and then they went and did their Temple duties. When their four months was up they went right back to the "hood". So everybody knew ‘em. It wasn’t like they were on a pedestal. The whole community had to go thru an initiation. In Malidoma Some’s book ‘Of Water and The Spirit’ he spoke of how he was captured and sent to a monastery school by the French. When he came back the villagers told him "You’re still a child". Cause all the children had gone thru initiation like (when they were) 12 or 13 and here’s this boy of 18 or 19 who hasn’t experienced initiation so there were deeper truths about life that he did not know. They told him that he wasn’t gonna be no good to them unless he went through it and they didn’t think he could survive it. He did go through it at that late age but they still won’t let him stay in the village. They send him out to the rest of the world because he has much of the rest of the world in him through his education. They said, "Maybe you can bring our message to the rest of the world". They know if he stays there in the village he’s going to bring the world’s message to them (and) they don’t want that. "White men actually used educated Africans to destroy the ancient African religions" Malidoma Some’s elders were aware of that and didn’t allow it. As much as we love our children, as much as we (ourselves) were loved by our parents, we’ve all been taught in the halls of academia. We’ve all been infected to a great deal by this mental construct that the movie called "The Matrix". We all have it and it’s important to get out of it. It can be done. It’s gonna be hard but it can be done but its gonna be a slow process. Whether you do it in your lifetime or not is really not important. If you try to do it…that’s what’s important. If you do it from your heart as best as you can that’s all that matters. But if you don’t try it, hey! Well you might as well hang out and party ‘cuz you’re gonna be back here again hanging out and partying. But if you want to get up out of this mess the study of Kemetic spiritual wisdom is one of the ways you can remove yourself from this.                   © Temple of MAAT-TEHUTI 2003

OUR CHILDREN, OUR BLESSING

Many of us sit in puzzlement today wondering about the violence that is choking the very life out of our vicinages. Young people, our hope and future, hypnotized by their own self hatred, preying on each other, and anyone else for that matter who happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

How many times have I heard senior citizens say, "Those damned young people are just so rude and ignorant! They’re hopeless!" But what we fail to realize is that those damned young people are a reflection of the example we have set. The we being parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and adults in general.

Let’s face it. We have failed our Black youth, and allowed them to fall victim to every snare designed by this society to bring about their demise. We continually cast aside the sacrifices necessary to leave an inheritance for our children. We are too busy chasing the American Dream; too busy emulating someone else; too busy praying to a picture of Michaelangelo’s cousin for salvation; too busy listening to every wacko psychologist who has something to say about how we should rear our own.

We stand broadchested and proud over the fact that we constantly show our children who the boss is by thrashing them incessantly with a nice skinny tree limb or better yet an ironing cord whenever they disobey us. Just as our forebears were thrashed and degraded unintermittingly in the plantation fields of the South. We think to ourselves, "Spare the rod and spoil the child". Never knowing that what the Wiseman meant was the rudis (rod) of correction, knowledge, wisdom, and understanding not a belt, tree, electrical cord, or the like.

Without hesitation we scream at the top of our lungs at our children, jerking them back and forth like lifeless dolls, calling them dumb and stupid, shouting obscenities. And thinking to ourselves how we wish they had never been born. Oh, what a grave mistake we made on that fateful night when we were overtaken by our passions.

Why? Our children ask inquisitively when we request something of them. Because I said so, we bark back, denying them a sufficient and legitimate answer, unconscious of the fact that in the process they are being indiscriminately robbed of the aptitude necessary to distinguish right from wrong.

With a double tongue we speak, preaching one thing and practicing another. We allow the television to be our baby sitter and the radio the singer of lullabies. We only consider ourselves when we can’t seem to get things right. We feel that what is best for us, as an individual not our children, is the only thing that matters.

Because of our own ignorance and shame we are unable to teach our children about the glory and achievements of their people. Instead we choose to talk about ‘good’ hair, ‘bad’ hair, ‘light’ skin, ‘dark’ skin. We mock our origin and lower our heads whenever we hear the word AFRICA.

We applaud our self-hatred. Calling each other nigger, dog, whore, and bitch at every turn. Frying our brains out trying to get just the right look while our children tease each other about having nappy hair.

We find time for the most trivial of things, but when it comes to our children we are always too busy or too tired. We rarely speak of love and when we do our actions rarely reinforce our words.

Look at all the responsibilities we have shirked. We’re too haughty to perceive our shortcomings and too arrogant to accept blame for our trespasses. Is it really startling that our young people are just as confused as we are?

As their exemplars (role models) we must strive to be more than just advice givers, more than just dime a dozen orators, more than just beggars fighting over a few jobs (crumbs) that may fall from "massa’s table." We must labor to reach our children love, respect, compassion, truth, honor, loyalty, justice, and discipline transforming them into potent seeds that will one day fall upon the fertile soil that is our story. OUR CHILDREN WILL THEN MATURE TO BECOME RADIANT ILLUSTRATIONS TO THOSE YET BORN.

            OUR CHILDREN, OUR BLESSING!!!
